Getting Started with UI Path

Automation is the next big thing. I’m sure you’ve heard that kind of thing before and quite often take it with a pinch of salt. But in this case, it really is true. Software automation is the fastest growing sector within enterprise software and for good reason.

Imagine a tool that frees up your staff, removing repetitive process and allowing them the time to add real actual value to your customer interactions. Well those tools exist and their known as RPA or robotic process automation.

There are lots of players in the RPA market but for me, you can’t get better than UI Path.

UI Path offers a broad range of tools that allow you to create powerful software automation robots that can perform almost any task.

In my new course on Pluralsight: RPA with UI Path: Getting Started I show you how you can get started with software automation using the UI Path studio software.

Now this is a beginners course so you don’t need to be a software developer, in fact you don’t need anything to get going with automation.

The course is broken down into 6 modules:

In the first module, we look at some of the theory behind RPA. What kind of problems does it aim to solve, who uses it and what tools are available.

We then move onto looking at UI path specifically. How do you download and install it, what tools are availble and how do you set yourself up for success.

Next we start getting our hands dirty by building our first automation and we look at the different types of project available and how you can create reusable components using Library projects. These are great as they allow you to create automations that can be used over and over again in different projects.

We also look at how we manipulate data and how we add logic to our automations by using control flow. This allows us to build powerful automations that can make decisions based on the inputs they receive.

Finally we look at how we can speed up our development by using Recorder. Recorder allows us to literally record our interactions with an application and uses that recording to build an automation for us. This is really handy when working with complicated desktop or web applications.

At the end of the course we look at the next steps you can take to further develop your UI path automation skills.

It’s a great course that doesn’t require any previous knowledge and tries to keep things simple and easy to understand so if you have even a passing interest in software automation then take the time to check it out and as always if you have any questions then feel free to reach out.
